Kids can start from the age of 8yrs and up through their teens. Gracie Jiu Jitsu and Machado Jiu Jitsu – also known Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), Reflex is now teaching the style of Machado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Learn the real Art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. “Fundamentals" are broken down into easy, progressive sections, so you can learn the moves and special techniques of basics ground skills of superior position and control, submissions, break falls and rolls, locks and escapes. It’s a great form of self-defence that improves flexibility and fitness.
If your child is 15 years and over you can also train in any of the adults classes.

Dominic Lavalle started Martial Arts training in 1984, (at 14 years old) and has become black belts in six different styles and disciplines. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu arrived on the Australian martial arts scene in early 1989. It was introduced in Australia by John Will, after meeting and training with John, Dominic started his BJJ training in 1997.
Chris Holden and Mitch Holden brothers, both are assistant Instructors with the Kids BJJ class and the Adults BJJ class weekly. Today, they both continue to teach and train under the guidance of Master Dominic Lavalle.
Jiu Jitsu originated over 2500 years ago. This art developed as a set of self defence techniques based on animal movements. Jiu Jitsu in Japanese means 'gentle art' . A self defence art whose essence is to use as little energy as possible with maximum effect.
Master Dominic’s passion is enjoying teaching, training and learning new skills and developing existing ones with students, sensei’s, and masters.
