Biography:

I was introduced into Muay Thai kickboxing when I was 17, through my husband Dominic Lavalle. My initial interests were purely for fitness but I soon became addicted and wanted to learn more of the art so I started studying Dominic's training style called 'Combative Kickboxing'. Throughout my training, I started to compete in open Martial Art Tournaments, I wanted to experience what it would be like to challenge other female fighters from different forms of Martial Arts. With Dominic as my trainer who taught me most of my skills that I know today, I knew I would do well. I competed in several tournaments over 4 years and I always returned home with either a 1st, 2nd or 3rd placing each time.

In 1998 I became the first female Black Belt in Combative Kickboxing after training very hard for 5 years. I then competed in the women's Black Belt division and won the State title followed by the Australian title held in Melbourne in 1998. This was a very exciting year for me as I firstly travelled overseas and trained with world champion kick boxer Peter 'Sugar Foot' Cunningham, then I achieved my 1st Dan Black Belt and I then finished the year with 2 Martial Arts titles.

In 2007 I decided to make a comeback after having two children. I trained very hard and fought in two full contact Thai Kickboxing fights and won! The first fight was in Manly beating the hometown girl. My second fight was the greatest experience for me, winning in my hometown of Wollongong with lots of my students watching and supporting me.

2010, 2014 & 2019 I travelled overseas to train in Thailand at Sinbi Muay Thai Camp “Phuket” and also at WMC Muay Thai Camp in “Samui”. Both camps have a lot of talented trainers so I enjoyed mixing it up with hard training! And Techniques!

"I’m passionate about helping others achieve their individual goals. I encourage anybody, no matter what level of fitness or experience to give it a go."
